What is the AAUW International Fellowship?
This fellowship is for women who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents. It supports full-time graduate and postdoctoral study at accredited U.S. institutions. A few awards are also available for study outside the U.S. (not in your home country) for Graduate Women International (GWI) members.

How Much Funding Can You Get?
The fellowship provides financial support to focus on your studies, including:
Master’s / First Professional Degree: $20,000
Doctoral Degree: $25,000

Who Can Apply?
To qualify, applicants must:
Be citizens of a non-U.S. country and not U.S. permanent residents.
Have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Plan full-time study in the U.S. during the fellowship year.
Commit to returning home after completing studies.
Be proficient in English.
You should have applied or plan to apply to a U.S. accredited university by the time of the fellowship award.
Fields of Study Supported
The fellowship covers a wide range of programs, including:

Postdoctoral research
Online or distance learning programs are not eligible. GWI members may apply for study outside their home country (excluding the U.S.) for certain awards.
